Moreover, some women of our company amazed us. They were at the tomb early in the morning, and when they did not find His body, they came back saying that they had even seen a vision of angels, who said that He was alive. Some of those who were with us went to the tomb and found it just as the women had said, but Him they did not see.” And He said to them, “O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken! Luke 24:22-25
Are you one of the ‘company’ of those who are always seeking Jesus with all that is within you? Do you rise early to find Him? Do you get up early and attempt to meet with Him? Do you seek His Presence with a growing longing within your heart and soul?
I sit here seeking Him. It’s dark outside, dawn has yet to break. My eyes opened after sleep and my thoughts immediately went to ‘meeting’ with Him. I got excited about sitting down and listening for His Voice. I went through all the morning chores with anticipation of this time …early in the morning when everything was quiet and new and I could open my soul to Him and …listen and learn. Like those on the road to Emmaus who after He arose from the grave Jesus went on a walk with … and shared time with them. I’ve always pondered who those of the ‘company’ actually were. When they rushed back to tell the disciples – they didn’t believe them either of who they encountered on the road.
Our intimate times with Him should be cherished and sought after, like they are the best part of our day and the most anticipated. It doesn’t matter what others say or believe …its YOUR time with Him that matters most. It’s in that place (intimate alone time with Him) that our ‘faith’ is increased by Him. Do you set those times to meet with Him?
Do you write down what He tells you? Do you keep a journal of sorts that records those things that He impacts your heart with? Do you cherish those things He tells you? Mary, His mom kept many things in her heart and pondered them.
“Oh Lord, we seek You! You are our all in all. Holy is your name. Your Kingdom fills our hearts and the anticipation grows each day as we travel towards the fulfilment of actually being there with You! We proclaim you are KING! May your Light burst forth from our hearts. May your Words pour out of the Spirit who resides within us. Holy Spirit – lead us today, show us the path you would have us take. Instruct us in The Way! Remind us of how brief our lives are and how long eternity is… that we might understand your heart towards us. You are our joy and peace Jesus!”
