And as soon as He was approaching, near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of the disciples began to praise God joyfully with a loud voice for all the miracles which they had seen, shouting:
“Blessed is the King, the One who comes in the name of the Lord;
Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”
And yet some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Him, “Teacher, rebuke Your disciples!” Jesus replied, “I tell you, if these stop speaking, the stones will cry out!” Luke 19:37-40
He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation: for by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones, or dominions, or rulers, or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him. Colossians 1:15-16
I am reminded of visions of heaven where EVERYTHING has a frequency and a ‘song’ that fills the entire atmosphere with praise. The grass, the flowers, the trees, the rivers, the mountains, … everything has its own ‘song’. The air is filled with beautiful melodies in every direction. Oh – it is beyond description. Nothing I can write or say will come close. Creation was made to have a ‘voice’. You have a voice. Do you use it to praise your Creator?
When times get tough, I think of those visions. Oh… what He has in store for us!! I spent a day last week hiking in the high sierras with my daughter. Wow!! The vistas were familiar as we have hiked the trail numerous times throughout the years. But every time the beauty is … just wow! Deep in the high sierras I ALWAYS think of heaven. Creation literally sings of His glory! It’s only when stuck in manmade cities that you can lose the wonder of His creation. Those who recognize and are familiar with that wonder begin to see it more often and usually long to be deep into the natural beauty of this earth. Our Creator is SO amazingly creative! And YOU too were made to be creative as well! To really love is to create.
If you can – GO high and deep into the wild of nature! Escape the man-made machinations and go walk and ponder in a high green meadow. The enemies of God want to destroy His creation, they want to keep all humans away from it. Adam was given stewardship over this planet. And then sin entered the equation and changed it. Now redeemed through the Son, – we can truly connect with the Father’s heart. His creation can have such a different impact on our souls now once we’re redeemed by His blood.
The enemies of God want to stop humans from seeing and experiencing His handiwork, and if they can’t do that, then the lie is to worship the creation instead of the Creator. As His creation we innately know His attributes, but so many refuse to honor Him and become without excuse and have dark hearts.
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of people who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, that is, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, being understood by what has been made, so that they are without excuse. For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their reasonings, and their senseless hearts were darkened. Romans 1:18-21
Thus we live in a battlefield. Forces and principalities going at it. Until the appointed time – we live as His ambassadors to a lost and dying world until He comes and remakes it into a new earth free from sin and shame. And HE knows how to make things beautiful. Do you understand that this earth is NOT your home? Do you know that innately … deep within your soul? Don’t forget His statement that He IS preparing a place for us!
Father we long for home, where YOU are! To sit and laugh with Jesus and just talk. To seek the wonders and depths of power of the Holy Spirit. Oh Lord… help us be faithful in our steps while we are still here.
