The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. John 1:5
And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. John 3:19
Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12
So Jesus said to them, “The light is among you for a little while longer. Walk while you have the light, lest darkness overtake you. The one who walks in the darkness does not know where he is going. John 12:35
I have come into the world as light, so that whoever believes in Me may not remain in darkness. John 12:46
If we say we have fellowship with Him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. 1 John 1:6
Whoever says he is in the light and hates his brother is still in darkness. 1 John 2:9
But whoever hates his brother is in the darkness and walks in the darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes. 1 John 2:11
Without Jesus where is the light? Can you discern REAL light? Can you remember being deceived in the past? Have you asked the Holy Spirit why you fell into that trap? How does one actually recognize the True Light?
And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. 2 Corinthians 11:14
Real light has the real Jesus at the center.
And the city has no need of sun or moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and its lamp is the Lamb. Revelation 21:23
And night will be no more. They will need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they will reign forever and ever. Revelation 22:5
So how do I test the spirits and the ‘light’ that they are giving or supposedly bringing?
Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you heard was coming and now is in the world already. 1 John 4:1-3
This is He who came by water and blood—Jesus Christ; not by the water only but by the water and the blood. And the Spirit is the One who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth. 1 John 5:6
How does one know the real truth of things without the Holy Spirit? Without the Holy Spirit revealing the Truth (Which is Jesus Himself) to you how will you know Him?
When the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all the truth, for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak, and He will declare to you the things that are to come. John 16:13
The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned. 1 Corinthians 2:14
For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. Hebrews 4:12
Here the Greek word for ‘word’ is logos the same word used in John 1:1 to describe Jesus.
Jesus IS the Light. Are you seeking Him in your soul? Are you allowing Him to shine in your life?
“No one after lighting a lamp covers it with a jar or puts it under a bed, but puts it on a stand, so that those who enter may see the light. For nothing is hidden that will not be made manifest, nor is anything secret that will not be known and come to light. Take care then how you hear, for to the one who has, more will be given, and from the one who has not, even what he thinks that he has will be taken away.” Luke 8:16-18
Are you asking the Holy Spirit what His plan is for you today?
Jesus SHINE in me today! Help me walk in YOUR LIGHT!
