But the Lord sits enthroned forever; He has established His throne for justice, and He judges the world with righteousness;
He judges the peoples with uprightness. Psalm 9:7-8
For the word of the Lord is upright,
and all His work is done in faithfulness.
He loves righteousness and justice;
the earth is full of the steadfast love of the Lord. Psalm 33:5-6
Turn away from evil and do good;
so shall you dwell forever.
For the Lord loves justice;
He will not forsake His saints.
They are preserved forever,
but the children of the wicked shall be cut off.
The righteous shall inherit the land
and dwell upon it forever. Psalm 37:27-29
Jesus came to bring justice.
But the Pharisees went out and conspired against Him, how to destroy Him.
Jesus, aware of this, withdrew from there. And many followed Him, and He healed them all and ordered them not to make Him known. This was to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah:
“Behold, my servant whom I have chosen,
my beloved with whom my soul is well pleased.
I will put my Spirit upon him,
and He will proclaim justice to the Gentiles.
He will not quarrel or cry aloud,
nor will anyone hear His voice in the streets;
a bruised reed He will not break,
and a smoldering wick He will not quench,
until He brings justice to victory;
and in His name the Gentiles will hope.” Matthew 12:14-21
“But woe to you Pharisees! For you tithe mint and rue and every herb, and neglect justice and the love of God. These you ought to have done, without neglecting the others. Luke 11:24
Justice has always been part of God’s heart and will. In a world where evil and corruption can run rampant and when the un-God-fearing take authority – true justice flees. We are seeing greater and greater amounts of injustice in this world as the evil and corruption has flourished in the last few years. Many are now in positions of power around the world down to the local community that literally hate God and His family. The examples of this are in our face every day.
We must remember the final Judge WILL demand justice of everyone. Some of us are blessed because our “Lawyer” is the son of the Judge and already paid our debt for eternity. The blood of Jesus was the cost for our sin. Those who have accepted Him and the sacrifice He made for them have been ‘acquitted’ from personal punishment under God’s law. This IS the seriousness of God’s justice.
Human justice is spotty at best. Rarely these days is justice provided for the poor or maligned groups, unless you have the money to afford it. This is human justice… which is a far cry from the real justice from God. It behooves everyone to understand that God takes justice VERY seriously, and that He has the power and righteous authority to carry it out … to the extreme measure. This is where true ‘fear of the Lord’ is wisdom, because true wisdom understands God’s power and authority, and the real consequences of sin.
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23
Consider the words of Jesus…
“I tell you, my friends, do not fear those who kill the body, and after that have nothing more that they can do. But I will warn you whom to fear: fear Him who, after He has killed, has authority to cast into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear Him!” Luke 12:4-5
God’s love and justice cannot be separated. Very, very, rarely is justice ever meted out correctly from one who does not fear God, and they are known as an ‘un-righteous judge’. And today there are SO many sitting in the seat of a ‘judge’ that actually don’t recognize God or His real justice. This is where un-righteous laws and behaviors are allowed to flourish. And the evidence is EVERYWHERE that is happening right now.
So, I’d encourage EVERYONE to get the same Lawyer I have. His name is Jesus Christ. Accept the fact of who He is and what He paid for you.
Justice IS coming!
His eyes are like a flame of fire, and on His head are many diadems, and He has a name written that no one knows but Himself. He is clothed in a robe dipped in blood, and the name by which He is called is The Word of God. Revelation 19:12-13
