Where is Jesus?

Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with Me. Revelation 3:20

When you pray where do you usually think (or visualize) Jesus is? On His throne in heaven? In the church building on Sunday morning? Right beside you when you are praying? Or … within you? What is the truth? Have you invited Him in? Do you believe what Jesus says? Did He actually come in to you?

Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? 1 Corinthians 6:19

Learning to recognize His Presence and voice within you should become a discipline of every follower (disciple of Christ / Holy Spirit) of Jesus. We often think of going to a Sunday morning service to be fed or be filled up, or receive what the Lord has for us. When in fact we should be coming together to GIVE what we have received throughout the week FROM the Holy Spirit and Jesus to those around us. Spiritually mature followers of Christ pour out of the richness from their fellowship with Christ to those around them – everyday. When they go to the ‘meeting’ they ask the Lord what it is He wants them to say and do. What gifts are they to bring to the Body of Christ? Where is the ‘well’ of spirituality that you go to? Is it within you or outside of you? What does your answer say about your spiritual disciplines?

Are you walking through your day conversing with the inner Presence of the Holy Spirit / Jesus? Prayer really is about 10% asking and 90% listening if you are mature in your relationship with Jesus. Who really is guiding your day? Who really is instructing you in your thoughts, words, and actions throughout your day? Are you asking Jesus to help you mentally, emotionally, and physically?

Believe what Jesus said in the scriptures. Believe what Jesus tells you in your ‘heart’. Trust Him. Work on building that relationship deeply in your ‘inner’ being. He is there waiting for you to interact with Him.

This simple discipline is possibly the most important a person has to mature in with Christ.
