Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me His own. Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Let those of us who are mature think this way, and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal that also to you. Philippians 3:12-15
Today. Right now. This moment. It’s all we have. We can’t change the past. But we can invest today for the future. We can choose to focus and listen for the ‘still small Voice’ of the Holy Spirit speaking to us in our heart and mind today. We can choose to be courageous and obedient to His prompting to pray, give, speak, and be His hands for others today. We can choose to allow Him to implant His love deeper into our hearts and souls today. We can consecrate our minds to the Holy Spirit for Him to protect, guide, direct, and suggest what choices we should be making. We can meditate on His Word that the Holy Spirit brings to our memory throughout our day. We can ask Him questions. We can build our relationship with God throughout our day.
This means we have to trust Him with every step on the path He has laid out for us… today. Do you trust Him even when He is asking you to do difficult things? Things that could potentially embarrass you before others? Or make you look foolish in their eyes?
For the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. 1 Corinthians 1:25
Are you excited for what God has in store for you… today? This is what I am working on. Not to be filled with anxiety – but cheerfulness and giving EVERYTHING into His hands. I want to remain in His peace – no matter the current circumstances. Are you asking Him to show you the divine appointments He has for you this day? Are you excited for them? Are you willing to lean into them once you recognize when you are in them? Don’t cut short the divine appointments He will give you today. Be willing to walk with Him – instead of asking Him to walk with you. Be willing to go were He asks you to go. Be willing to say the things He is asking you to say. Work on presenting it the way He wants you to present it. Obviously working on and with Him in the fruit of the Spirit in everything we do – asking Him to show us how.
Be aware. Ask Him to show you. Listen. Pause. Relinquish your anxiety and fears to Him. Rest in Him.
Stay focused on Him.

1 thought on “Press on …”
Today, I learned a lie that I was believing about myself: I wouldn’t be able to handle/cope with people’s judgements/punishments/condemnations towards me if I keep choosing to do the increasingly difficult things that the Holy Spirit is asking of me. And then these scriptures quickly came to my mind:
There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear, because fear involves punishment. The one who fears has not been perfected in love. – 1 John 4:18
Fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. – Matthew 10:28
My prayer for everyone reading this…
Father,
We praise and thank you for sacrificing your only son for our sins so you could have eternal life with us. You already judged what could NOT be judged by man because you are LOVE. You alone love rightly and mercifully. You alone are worthy of all glory, honor and praise. We glorify YOU, honor YOU and praise YOU for who you ARE. We give up the fear of man and all that comes with it to you right now. It is yours, take it, Father. You are a good good, Father. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
