Your inner child.

“Let the little children come to Me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 19:14

When you read that is there a place in you that thinks He means you too? Our soul is a mysterious creation of His. We all have that ‘inner child’ in our soul. It is often triggered within us by early childhood trauma experiences. Jesus wants to heal that ‘child’ in you too. Jesus wants to commune with that child in you. Eternal things are part of Him. We have His breath within us. There is such a beauty and love encapsulated in a child. You experience it as a parent the first time you hold your child. We ARE His children.

Usually our inner child is hiding and full of feeling. When triggered we can be instantly transported to when we young with a huge wash of feelings. Have you ever allowed Jesus into those ‘hidden’ areas of your soul? Jesus wants to meet and hold that child within you. Can you invite Jesus into that place in your soul where you are a child?

Our inner child is that part of us that Jesus wants us to be ‘in touch’ with.

At that time Jesus declared, “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children; yes, Father, for such was Your gracious will.” Matthew 11:25-26

And calling to Him a child, he put him in the midst of them and said, “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.  Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 18:2-4

Children are more apt to experience the touch of Heaven than adults. As adults we have had the time to corrupt our souls with lies and deception. We believe the lies from the enemy and stain our souls. Jesus wants to cleanse our souls from those stains. Jesus wants to restore and heal that child within us. God created us with a beautiful innocence. That innocence is often stripped away from children WAY too soon. This world needs Jesus. The children need Jesus. You need Jesus. I need Jesus.

Prayer: Jesus I invite you in to those hiding (dark) places in my soul where my inner child lives. I love you Jesus. Come Jesus and heal that child within me. I want to sit on your lap and be surrounded and held in your arms.

Can you ‘see’ / experience Jesus with your inner child? What is Jesus doing?
