For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. Matthew 11:30
Anyone remember the poem ‘Footprints’? It was written in 1939 by Mary Stevenson. The end of the poem are these lines…
But I have noticed that during
the most trying periods of my life
there have only been one
set of footprints in the sand.
Why, when I needed you most,
you have not been there for me?”
The Lord replied,
“The times when you have
seen only one set of footprints,
is when I carried you.”
Are you able to recognize when the Lord was or is intervening in your life? Yesterday this question kept rolling around in my head while I was in the shower… “Is it your history? Or is it His story … in you?” I wondered if could recognize His story in me? How many times in the past did I despair thinking that the Lord had abandoned me yet in truth He was carrying me? How many times had the enemy blinded my ‘vision’ so I could not see the Lord working on my behalf? How many times did the enemy create so much noise in my head that I couldn’t recognize His Voice?
Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for He has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” So we can confidently say,
“The Lord is my helper;
I will not fear;
what can man do to me?” Hebrews 13:4-6
Jesus is with us… always? The Holy Spirit is One with Jesus. (Ephesians 4:4) The Holy Spirit indwells our body and makes it His temple … if we invite Him in. (1 Corinthians 16:19, Revelation 3:20) So the Voice of Jesus IS within us to guide us and direct us. He makes suggestions as to which way He would prefer us to go. Do you agree with Him when He makes those suggestions? Do you listen to His advice? Does He remind you of what He said? (Scripture) Are you recognizing the ‘story’ of His ‘work’ and love throughout your life? His story? Your … history with Him?
His story in you … is His testimony in you. Do you have a testimony of Him working in your life yesterday? Or today? Is He carrying you now, or are you walking beside Him as He gives you direction? Are you becoming more and more aware of His work and voice in your life?
How important is it to recognize His work in our lives? What will that recognition do in our lives? How will it change our attitude? How will it change our demeanor? How will it change our character? Will we be more open to receiving His wisdom? Will we be more apt to agree with His suggestions quicker? Is His fruit more evident in our lives?
History?
I want His story instead.

Great questions
I am constantly blown away by how involved with me the Lord is. There is constant work to be done. Constant things brought to my attention just because He loves me,
It is a constant but I can also sense when He’s not there and it troubles me greatly. I have discovered that it is not Him but me not obeying something or multiple things that cause that separation
So grateful for His love and mercy
