I am weary with my moaning; every night I flood my bed with tears; I drench my couch with my weeping. Psalms 6:6

O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water. Psalms 63:1

I am weary with my crying out; my throat is parched. My eyes grow dim with waiting for my God. Psalms 69:3

David knew the weariness of the … soul, and wasn’t afraid to express it to God.

Many people know all about Proverbs 31 — but how many know and can relate to Proverbs 30? (go read it)

The Lord God has given me

    the tongue of those who are taught,

that I may know how to sustain with a word

    him who is weary.

Morning by morning he awakens;

    he awakens my ear

    to hear as those who are taught. Isaiah 50:3-5

Do you awaken ready to ‘hear’ His words to you? Do you seek Him out right after you awaken for His Voice to you?

We NEED ‘life’ every day! Not just physical life — but LIFE for our .. souls!

It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life. John 6:63

Do you understand the weariness of this life in your soul?

We need His … ‘life’ …in our souls. This isn’t about the religious ‘formula’ or religious platitudes — this is the honest assessment of how much we actually ‘lack’ in our soul to sustain forward progress. Jesus HATED hypocrisy. We need to be brutally honest with Him. David didn’t seem to have a problem of telling God his deep, hard, dark, emotions. We too have a “Friend” who can relate with us…. His name is Jesus.

This isn’t about the religious view of ‘salvation’, but the scriptural and spiritual understanding of the ‘salvation’ He brings to us each day … if we will let Him by His Spirit. In the Spirit is … real life. The Holy Spirit who indwells us — knows our heart — better then we do ourselves. We often just need to be honest with ourselves — how we really are feeling … and pour it all out to Him.

Ecclesiastes is a good book to read and ponder… the end of Solomon’s experience being poured out in a ‘bottom line’ of wisdom and truth. Ecclesiastes is a good book for the ‘mature’ individual — because they can relate to the writer to an extent.

If you haven’t been ‘real’ with God and expressed your deepest emotions to Him … now would be a good time to do it. How He responds to you might surprise you.
