Waiting on the Lord

I believe that I shall look upon the goodness of the Lord

    in the land of the living!

 Wait for the Lord;

    be strong, and let your heart take courage;

    wait for the Lord! Psalms 27:13-14

As the pressure builds, the temptation to react with speed also increases. As time speeds up with intensity …the natural thing is to have anxiety and stress. The enemy wants us to react, and put our system into flight or fight mode. Yet.. the Spirit of God wants His fruit that He has been working within you to grow and ‘engage’. The fruit of self control and our will aligned with Him sends us into the mode of ‘waiting on Him’, where we purposely quiet ourselves and seek His face and instructions. The fruit of peace is where were able to navigate through the present storm with the knowledge and calmness that He is with us. (Think of the disciples in the boat during the storm / Matthew 8)

I understand there will be times where we must act quickly, but I also know He is the Master of time, and has all the time in the Universe at His deposal, and can give you what you need in the moment that you need it … if you are ‘plugged’ into life with Him. I’ve experienced several times in my life — where His hand somehow manipulated time and space for my benefit. I still can’t fully explain those events. He WILL be there for you if you call out for Him.

One of the things the Holy Spirit wants to work into your life is the correct usage and perspective of … fear. There is only one correct .. fear. The fear of the Lord. That fear brings wisdom and life. The fear of the Lord brings the correct warnings for us to have an abundance of life. Evil brings destruction and death, and wants to bring you harm.

Father guide me today! Please be with me. Surround me with Your Presence. Fill me with the electricity and power of your Holy Spirit. Help my ears to hear You with greater clarity. Forgive me Father for not being present with You in the past, forgive me for my selfishness, I realize now how much I need You. Cleanse me of my wrong ways, and iniquities. Come Lord Jesus!

Make time for Him today. Go sit in a quiet place and ask Him to speak to you. And wait for His response and words to your mind and heart. If scripture comes to your mind, look it up and ask Him what is there for you .. in this moment. Spend time worshipping Him. Send time in prayer being as honest as you can be with Him. It’s not like He doesn’t already know, but your confession brings you into right standing with Him.
