Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? Romans 8:35
How much is life worth? Lawyers give it a number, depending on who you are, what you do, and what kind of status you have. Politicians can give a number based on how important they think you are to them. Those who have decided to rob a home have decided that their life isn’t worth more than what they are seeking to steal. The supposed value of life really depends on a person’s understanding or the lack thereof of the Creator.
Life’s values goes up in one’s mind when you actually know the Creator personally. When you know how much effort and design the Creator put into that individual life .. you begin to realize you really don’t have a clue what a human life really is worth. How can we know the Creator’s intent, and effort, and design for each individual?
In the right relationship of a husband and wife who desire children, and when pregnancy comes there is celebration, and conception is seen as the beginning of that actual person. The family and friends love that person growing inside that womb / mom. Many still throw parties for the mom and for that little growing person in the womb, they’re called “baby showers”. Everyone in the family is excited with anticipation for that little person to be birthed. Everyone in the family greatly values that ‘life’, and looks forward to knowing them personally.
Does that unborn life hold more value because the family wants it? Isn’t that putting the value of life back with us humans rather than on the One is forming that person inside the womb? His intentions and design of that particular individual?
For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. Psalms 139:13
So many of like to sit on His Throne and judge everyone and everything. We think we know better than the Creator. We think we know what’s really important, because we’ve been around so long, and learned so much. I think most of us will be really surprised at what the Creator really values.
We’re at a time when human life again is being greatly devalued. We can kill them in the womb, or whenever they no longer have any value to us. Euthanasia? It’s being talked about more and more. When you consider the spiritual side of things, you know the enemy HATES human life. The enemy will kill whenever they can, whomever they can, however they can. Knowing this should tell us how much God values each life. And how much can God redeem lives?
Grandparents understand a little more the value of children and the blessing from God they are. Time and scars with life experience begins to shape one’s understanding. To normal God fearing grandparents EVERY grandchild is welcomed, wanted, special, and are highly desired. How much more does our Heavenly Father love us, and desire to know us? Are His plans mistakes? Are His creations mistakes?
Take the time to ponder the value of life. Allow the Holy Spirit to widen your understanding on the topic.
