Yet the Most High does not dwell in houses made by hands, Acts 7:48
Christianity has become a huge religion and a build up of things that were not at the beginning. The Christianity we know today has become a very complex and a complicated thing. The hands of Men have come upon the things of God, and Men have tried to build this great thing according to their own judgment. And of course we then have all this confusion, divisions, denominations, along with all the complications and interpretations. Christianity has become it’s own great hindrance…
When you go about this country and cities you will see a great deal of religious buildings and many with a cross on the top. And when people enter these buildings they bow themselves and try to be reverent, because they think it is a ‘sacred’ building. If you interfere with anything there it is seen as ‘sacrilege’. To God all of that is nonsense, and doesn’t mean anything at all. The ONLY thing that matters to God is not the wonderful building, or all the things inside the building, or even the cross on the top. The one thing that matters is whether He is there. Is the Presence of God Himself there?
But what about ourselves? When so many make statements like “We’re going to be in the ‘house of the Lord / God’. And when they pray they thank the Lord for the privilege of being in the “house of the Lord”. What makes that place ‘sacred’? Where is the Tabernacle now? Where is Solomon’s temple now? All of it is gone and buried. The ONLY thing that makes a place ‘sacred’ is His Presence THERE in this moment! The Lord isn’t interested in our buildings and large congregational meetings, only if He is welcome there and can find a place where His Presence can dwell in gladness. Everything that is NOT of Christ is going to be dissolved and done away with.
Make no mistake. The entirety of Christianity is going to be tested according to Christ. It will be tested to the degree of how far the work of the Holy Spirit was allowed and accomplished according to Christ.
What actually is the ‘house of God’ now?
Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
The Body of Christ is NOT a building. The Body of Christ is not a congregation. The Body of Christ is made up of individuals who KNOW Him and hear His Voice within them. (John 10:27)
What if Jesus looked at your life for how much the Holy Spirit was allowed and accomplished within you according to His wishes for you? How would you fare? How hungry have you been for Him? How much do you seek Him out? How much do you listen to Him? To that ‘still small Voice’ of the Holy Spirit within you… are you able to discern Him? Do you obey Him?
