For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another. But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, He saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to His own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by His grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life. Titus 3:3-7
Do you have any understanding of the ‘goodness’ of God? Have you ever asked the Holy Spirit to show you the goodness of God in your life and in your past where and when you really didn’t recognize it? Do you have experiential tangible evidence of His goodness towards you? Can you express it to others if the Holy Spirit asked you to? What is the difference and connection with the ‘kindness’ of God? Are they the same? If so …then why are they often mentioned separately? Why are they separate fruit mentioned as fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23)?
The goodness of God brought us Jesus Christ. The goodness of God brought us the Holy Spirit. The goodness of God brings us back into personal relationship with Him. The goodness of God changes us through the Holy Spirit with regeneration and renewal.
Have you ever thought deeply about the goodness of God? Have you ever pondered what your life might be like without His goodness? His goodness should spawn gratefulness within us. His blessings towards us and given to us comes from the goodness of His heart.
Have you spent anytime giving God praise for His goodness towards you … from your real honest heart? I’m not talking about a half-hearted singing effort in some church service – but a real revelatory heart experience of real gratitude towards God … for ALL He has done for you, AND will do for you.
The goodness of God – is much greater and expansive than we know or have experienced. Such is all of the fruit of the Spirit. Have you honestly ever asked the Holy Spirit to teach you about His ‘goodness’? If you do – do you think He won’t? Or will He gladly – come and teach you about His goodness?
Spiritual maturity is a growing display of His fruit in our lives. Are you really wanting to grow spiritually? Then ask the Holy Spirit to show and teach you His fruit… that He wants to produce in your life.
Disciple. Baptize. Teach. Fulfil His commission to you. (Matthew 28:19-20)
