The best prep for the end times one can do

But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you will be blessed. Have no fear of them, nor be troubled, but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect, having a good conscience, so that, when you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame. 1 Peter 3:14-16

“The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in Him.” Lamentations 3:24

When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written:

“Death is swallowed up in victory.” 

“O death, where is your victory?

    O death, where is your sting?”

The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. 1 Corinthians 15:54-56

Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear him,

    on those who hope in his steadfast love,

that he may deliver their soul from death

    and keep them alive in famine. Psalms 33:17-19

The über rich around the world have been preparing by building huge elaborate underground bunkers. The bunker building business has been very lucrative in the last ten years. But they forget what the Word of God says…

For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul? Matthew 16:26

The rich rely on their wealth to save them. What do you rely on? None of us know what, how, or when disaster will strike. When will our lives be thrown into crisis? When will all of the manmade systems crumble? When will the weight of all the corruption and evil crush the land from the consequences of sin? It seems everywhere we look corruption and evil is growing and becoming more evident. The rich never pay the consequences and the righteous poor are more and more squashed by the unjust standards set up by the corrupt leaders. Hypocrisy is extremely evident in the governments around the globe. It is also evident that the corrupt rich cheat ALL the time and are given a pass. They lie without impunity. But what the unGodly rich don’t know is that this world is the only ‘heaven’ they will know and experience. 

But for us whom the Lord Jesus ‘knows’ — our ‘home’ is not in this world. Our citizenship is not in this world. So where should our ‘preps’ be stored? Where should our treasure(s) be secured? All of our ‘plans’ for our ‘here and now’ must be by what the Holy Spirit is instructing us to do … and they actually may be for someone else .. that they would find the goodness and salvation of the Lord Jesus. None of us know when the Author of our days will say to us with great joy in His Voice, “Come home beloved!” But until then — we are His ambassadors and agents in this world and time, to equip and encourage the saints / His family to be obedient to His leading. All of this needs to be done from strict instruction from the Holy Spirit. Our fears and plans outside of His leading will NOT help us when the crisis hits. 

Is My hand shortened, that it cannot redeem? Or have I no power to deliver? Isaiah 50:2

God’s work, done in God’s time, will NEVER lack God’s support. 

Are you acting out of your own ‘wisdom’? Or out of the leading from the Holy Spirit? Who do you trust to ‘save’ you? Your own strength and preparation? Or do you trust Him to show you what to do at any given moment? Do you really believe God can supply all your need when you need it? 

And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19

This doesn’t mean you can sit back and do nothing, but the exact opposite is required. We must be hyper in tune with the leading and instructions from the Holy Spirit daily, moment by moment. We are HERE and now for His purposes, not ours. This means we have a responsibility to ‘hear Him’ and obey His instructions, moment by moment. 

“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matthew 6:19-21

Where is your treasure stored? What is your security? What are the instructions He is giving you each day?

Time is speeding up and growing short. Now is the time to press into the leading from the Holy Spirit. Now is the time to learn how to recognize His Voice within you. What do you need to clear away in your life that is hindering you from hearing Him clearly? Do it now while there is still time.
