For the love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore all have died; and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised.
From now on, therefore, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we once regarded Christ according to the flesh, we regard him thus no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. 2 Corinthians 5:14-19
But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. John 14:26
How deep is your relationship with the Holy Spirit? Deep enough to have daily ongoing conversations? Have you ever asked Him about other things? Like: “How do I do this thing?”, “How do I say this?”, “What do I need today?” Is He actually your Teacher in all things or have you just relegated Him to ‘spiritual things’? Does God care about your life in all of it’s areas? Or is He only interested in your spiritual life?
Americans have so been programmed to be compartmentalized in their lives. They keep so many things ‘separate’ from each other. When our lives are actually so intertwined with everything we are doing. Work life, family life, ‘church’ life, friends life, and on and on. Many people change themselves for each compartment to supposedly meet the ‘needs’ and what they think are the expectations of that certain compartment in their lives. Does that kind of behavior really help us? Or does it teach us that we need to compromise who we really are in many different situations and places? We have to speak a certain way, behave in a certain way, depending whatever compartment we currently are in. Is that really being honest? Or are we just ‘performing’ for an audience? Trying desperately to be ‘liked’ and ‘approved of’, whatever audience we are in front of. Sounds like …we need to be deeply loved.
So many times the Holy Spirit has had me shed those ‘roles’ and ‘masks’ I was wearing while in my certain compartments of my life, and just relax and be with Him and be myself. Are you comfortable with Him enough to just be … yourself in all the compartments of your life? Can the Holy Spirit speak to those kinds of issues in you? Do you trust Him enough to do that, and actually hear and listen to Him? Have you learned how to move into that type of ‘love’ and life with Him?
I know by personal experience that the Holy Spirit wants to be involved in EVERY nook and cranny of your life. That ‘hole’ that exists within every human being’s soul was created to only be satisfied by His indwelling Presence. He wants to permeate you in EVERY compartment of your life and fuse you together with Him to become exactly what the Father had in mind when He created you. He also wants to teach you and have adventures with you, to share life together. So the next time your frustrated trying to figure something out, or are faced with a problem you seem to not be able to figure out, ask the Holy Spirit first .. before immediately searching on your phone or computer for the answer. Let’s learn .. to make asking Him first …a habit. Wouldn’t that place Him in the ‘first’ place in your life .. in all things?
Of course this all relies on the skill of being able to hear Him clearly within your mind. And you’ve learned over the years to discern His Voice quickly with you. What are you doing to increase that ability?
