Imagine if you were told that in a 100 days you would be in heaven with Jesus.

For some of you that would bring somewhat of a disappointment, because you’re young and you have a lot of plans for life and family, and I understand that. For others like myself that would bring SO much joy and peace, as I am much older and lived a life and really look forward to the finish of my ‘race’ and being with Him. Then for others that would strike great fear into them and denial because they know deep down He would probably NOT let them in — as they have not really known Him or accepted Him.

To those which that concept and thought invokes fear into you, then the remedy is repentance and acceptance of the Truth.

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6

To those in which the concept brings great joy, I say that our time is actually drawing closer by the day and to utilize each day for His glory by listening to the Holy Spirit’s instructions and being obedient to Him in the present.

If it’s to be living on in the flesh, that means fruitful work for me. Philippians 1:22

To those which the statement is somewhat of a disappointment — it is understandable as you have not had enough life experience to fully understand the joy which is set before you, and are looking forward to the gifts of life which God has given you presently. I think of those in the midst of the joy of children – which are one of God’s greatest gifts He can give a person. But you must understand that God would not change His plan for you concerning your children … even in heaven. You will still know them, and love them, and watch them grow in Him. You will still have that joy and extreme love being with them but without the atmosphere of sin surrounding them as they grow. So all the adventure and fun without all the rebellion. Sound good?

The fact of the matter is .. that there will be a time coming where this earth will experience great turmoil. For many places on the earth right now — people are experiencing that turmoil with great personal suffering and pain. Some are going through massive persecution for their love for Jesus today. Many have to watch their own children suffer without being able to do anything to save them. Heaven will be void of all that.

Jesus called a child and stood her in the middle of them.

‘I’m telling you the truth,’ he said. ‘Unless you turn inside out and become like children, you will never, ever, get into the kingdom of heaven. So if any of you make yourselves humble like this child, you will be great in the kingdom of heaven. And if anyone welcomes one such child in my name, they welcome me.’

‘Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to trip up,’ he went on, ‘it would be better for them to have a huge millstone hung around their neck and be drowned far out in the deep sea. It’s a terrible thing for the world that people will be made to stumble. Obstacles are bound to appear and trip people up, but it will be terrible for the person who makes them come.’ Matthew 18:2-7

‘Take care not to despise one of these little ones. I tell you this: in heaven, their angels are always gazing on the face of my father who lives there’. Matthew 18:10

Jesus REALLY does love the little children! Children are VERY dear to the heart of God.

What does this show in light of the current mood of destroying children’s lives today by so many?

  1. The attitude towards children in the current hour is enough to make a person who knows the Father, weep. But it does bring hope to know that even in the other side of things he is still gracious and kind to bring the family together. I’ve never considered it, but that definitely makes things much easier to look forward too.
