How to receive revelation.

At that time Jesus declared, “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children; yes, Father, for such was your gracious will. All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him. Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. Matthew 11:25-29

Do you consider yourself to be wise and smart enough to be able to understand things? Or do you KNOW that God is WAY beyond your thoughts and comprehension? Have you learned enough to know that God’s creation and works are far beyond our knowledge? We have yet to discover the basic element of matter scientifically. We have hints – but we continue to discover smaller and smaller particles, and when we think we have the correct theory we find another discovery that is totally different than we expected. Science is still FAR from completely understanding the cosmos. We truly are a VERY complex design by God. In the very upper scientific circles the math proves intellectual design – but that goes against the narrative of those against God that have been trying to push as reality.

To truly begin to understand God and the spiritual realms – you must be humble before Him. Pride doesn’t cut it in God’s Presence. When does the finite tell the infinite what it is? We’ve all experienced youthful exuberance when they think they have all the answers and they tell us ‘the way it is’. We are SO children in God’s sight. We must learn to come to Him like a child in love and genuine questioning. We must WANT to learn rather than thinking we ‘know it all’. Actually, faith requires humility and an absence of pride. (read Hebrews 11)

If you want Jesus and the Holy Spirit to speak to you – you must be willing to listen to them. If you want ‘revelation’ from them you must be open to them sharing things with you that you may not like or understand. The trust relationship must be established to a level where you can’t be fearful of what He might tell you, in fact, you look forward to ANYTHING He might tell you, no matter how much it exposes your weaknesses, faults, or sin and iniquities.

If you want revelation from Him you must be obedient to the last thing He asked you to do. Does He give you assignments? Has He asked you to correct certain things in your behavior or relationships? Have you done them quickly without complaining? Have you learned that Jesus and the Holy Spirit is telling these things because He loves you?

For revelation to be given to you … you must be ready to receive it in the right heart posture before Him, and you actually have to ask Him for revelation. Have you asked Him for revelation?
