Being in the Light

Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12

But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. 1 John 1:7

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change. James 1:17

For you are all children of light, children of the day. We are not of the night or of the darkness. 1 Thessalonians 5:5

Do all things without grumbling or disputing, that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast to the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I may be proud that I did not run in vain or labor in vain. Philippians 2:14-16

But when anything is exposed by the light, it becomes visible, for anything that becomes visible is light. Therefore it says,

“Awake, O sleeper,

    and arise from the dead,

and Christ will shine on you.”

Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, Ephesians 5:13-15

The night is far gone; the day is at hand. So then let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light. Romans 13:12

But if anyone walks in the night, he stumbles, because the light is not in him. John 11:10

“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” Matthew 5:8

How do I increase my spiritual light? How can I see more with ‘spiritual eyes’? How do I determine my correct path? How do I increase my ability to hear Him with greater clarity? How do I keep my heart pure?

… by intimate fellowship with the Holy Spirit. Who dwells within those who have invited Him into their lives and bodies. Who the Holy Spirit teaches with deeper revelation of who Jesus really is to those who seek Him. It is NOT by formula, or by a magic word, or by a memorized prayer .. it is by true honest heart intimate relationship with Him. 

If He is silent … and you cannot ‘hear’ His Voice .. do the last thing He told you to do. Ask Him to reveal your heart. Then listen .. closely … and don’t dismiss the hard truth. Repent in humility and honesty. Listen .. for His instructions.. for today. Then obey quickly. Repeat… over and over. It’s daily and moment by moment being IN that relationship and conversation with Him.

How do I increase the Light in me? By being IN the Light more often. By being around the Light always. And Who is the Light? (NOTE: This does not mean being in a physical space or building — it means in your heart of hearts, in your soul and mind)

How do I see spiritual things with more clarity? By keeping your heart pure. (See advice on being in intimate fellowship with Him) Our ‘pure’ heart is one that is exposed constantly to the Light.

How do I hear Him with greater clarity? By constant communication with Him. By obeying quickly what He asks you to do. By being humble and honest before Him.

If you seek Him you will find Him. So how much are you seeking Him?

Pursue Him with everything that is in you.
