So when you give Him time and just sit without an agenda waiting for Him to direct the conversation — that’s usually when you’ll receive some of the greatest revelation / messages / teaching from Him. (Hint: have a way to record / write down what you hear.. be ready)
So waiting on Him for this devotional on what He wanted to be said … this is the verse that immediately popped into my brain.
Isaiah 43:19
Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.
Then these… verses … with a theme of light and path.
Psalms 119:105
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
Proverbs 4:18
But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, which shines brighter and brighter until full day.
Isaiah 42:16
And I will lead the blind in a way that they do not know, in paths that they have not known I will guide them. I will turn the darkness before them into light, the rough places into level ground. These are the things I do, and I do not forsake them.
Everything in these to me speaks to His creativity, love, healing, and playfulness. He likes to show us new things, and take us on new adventures to new places. He wants to make it easy for us IF we’ll let Him, when …He leads us. I think the key here is allowing Him to lead, rather than inviting Him to go with you. Can you give up the driver’s seat … to your life?
Do you ever do that? Allow Him to direct you on adventures with Him? Have you ever invited Him to do that? Have you ever just sat and said “Okay God. What do you want to say to me? Okay God. Where do you want to take me?”
Do any of you feel like you’re in a wilderness? Do any of you feel spiritually thirsty? Ever had fresh spring water?
Will you allow Him to ‘make a way’ for you?
Will you allow Him to lead you to ‘a new thing’? New friends, new places, new ways, new discoveries?
