And in the last days it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams; Acts 2:17
If you haven’t encountered the testimonies coming out of Iran you should find them. Jesus personally is showing up to thousands of Iranians personally in their dreams. Open Doors ministry now estimates between 800,000 to 1 million Iranians have become Christians and KNOW personally …Jesus IS God. How? Dreams. Jesus comes to them personally in a dream.
We in the western cultures dismiss people who have spiritual dreams. If you tell someone today that you’ve had a dream of Jesus, you’ll most likely be met with skepticism and scorn by ‘Church’ goers. “Don’t you know?! God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit don’t work like that anymore?! We have the Bible!” Yet… here I am, and there you are. So many prophetically ‘gifted’ normal people who have zero aspirations of ‘platform’ ministry or looking for power, influence, or money – are having spiritual dreams and visions. So many have to turn to a confident ‘outside’ of their ‘Church’ community to talk about it – for the likelihood of being dismissed or seen as a kook.
Why is Jesus doing this? Well… in my experience Jesus has ALWAYS been interacting with people like this since He ascended into heaven. People have been having dreams and visions throughout the centuries. The western religious academics have squelched most of them. Just like in Jesus’ day. It’s NOT wrong to ask Jesus to come to you. It’s NOT wrong to want to be with Him in every possible way. In fact, my “meetings” with Him only grows my desire to BE with Him ALWAYS! Dreams and visions are just one way that He uses to come to us. The indwelling Presence of the Holy Spirit is now the MAIN way He speaks and has encounters with us. His quiet voice calling us to Him. His gentle voice asking us to do something for Him.
And after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire the sound of a low whisper. 1 Kings 19:12
That ‘low whisper’ is the most common way I ‘hear’ Him within me. He is gentle, loving, kind, and good. He is patient. He full of joy. Is that the way you encounter His voice? It doesn’t come because of ‘ritual’, of ‘forced meditation’, or a formula, or through the reciting of scripture, but He waits for my ‘heart’ to open to Him. Genuine. Totally honest and real. Transparent with all of my ‘ugliest’ sins glaring from me… as I sit in a true attitude of repentance… I reach out to Him. I’ve truly learned I NEED Him. I WANT Him. Do you? Does your heart and spirit yearn for Him, aching to be with Him? If you do – then you are welcome here.
Those of us who have become terminally committed to Christ understand the… commitment and cost, as well as the aching desire to be WITH Him. Sometimes the best thing we can do is stop, and pause, and turn out hearts and mind… again to Him. Giving everything and everyone back to Him. Releasing ALL of cares and worries in that moment – to Him. Do you do that often throughout your day? Why not?
Jesus is waiting for you to meet with Him. Will you?
