If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. James 1:5
Behold, you delight in truth in the inward being, and you teach me wisdom in the secret heart. Psalms 51:6
So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom. Psalms 90:12
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all those who practice it have a good understanding. Psalms 111:10
For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding; Proverbs 2:6
But they could not withstand the wisdom and the Spirit with which he was speaking. Acts 6:10
Wisdom. It is NOT intelligence. It is not a volume of information. Wisdom is not fame, or power, or monetary wealth. Wisdom is NOT success. It is something that ONLY comes from God. One can have all these things and still lack wisdom. Yet the smallest, meekest, individual who ‘knows’ God and fellowships with Him in their heart can be filled with His wisdom.
And said unto him, Hearest thou what these say? And Jesus saith unto them, Yea; have ye never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise? Matthew 21:16
All these things people strive after and so desire — yet wisdom is not on their list. Do you want peace and love in your life? Seek wisdom from God. So many value the certificates given out by the world, via education, and ‘renowned’ institutions… but none of them bestow real wisdom. We are supposed to revere those with great education and those in great positions … yet they lack real wisdom if they don’t receive it from God.
When you receive wisdom from God you begin to value a totally different set of things in your life. Wisdom begins to teach you what really is important and eternal in your life. Who do you go to to receive wisdom? Do you know anyone who emanates wisdom? Just being around them you feel the peace and love. Seek out those with wisdom and also seek out God, and ask Him for wisdom. Sit in the presence of wisdom and … listen, and ponder the truths He speaks.
Do you not know the Source of Wisdom? Jesus gave the Holy Spirit to us. For those who have learned to listen to the Spirit of God and heed His Voice … learn from His wisdom. One can read the Bible day and night, and memorize it .. but still lack wisdom. Why? Wisdom comes directly from God to our hearts and minds. The Word can confirm the wisdom He is speaking to us, but the power and understanding come from Him. Many preachers can have great talent and a fancy delivery, with wonderful stories and examples, but still lack the wisdom and power of God. How does one discern the wisdom of God? By being inhabited by it themselves. Wisdom recognizes wisdom. Just as the Holy Spirit confirms Himself to you, and what is of Him and what is not. How will one really know the Truth without knowing Jesus? How will one be in real fellowship with God without the Spirit of God within them?
The enemy will try to convince you otherwise — but what really is valuable and important in your life? What will last beyond this earthly life? Those with no wisdom will deny the ‘afterlife’ and it’s importance to the souls of humans. Lately voices in the media, celebrities, and other ‘notable’ individuals have made claims that there is nothing after one dies. Wisdom will tell you otherwise.
Seek wisdom, ask God for wisdom. Listen to what He says to you. Listen to the Holy Spirit within you.
