For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. Philippians 1:21
This is the verse that embodies the Terminally Committed to Christ spirit. If a person takes this TC2 challenge to heart then they are usually soon led into the wilderness where their entire natural life is brought out, and they come to know their weaknesses and emptiness; that they have nothing. It is in the wilderness that everything is found in the life of Christ and that we must adopt and possess His life within us, and thus finding our inheritance. In that inheritance we find the place where all things are in Christ and He is everything — our very life and being. Our flesh is put under subjection and we become aware of the deepest part of our being and realize that unless God does everything in us by His Spirit, all is of no value. We must learn to come to the very end of our own working in order to come into His fullness. It’s easy to acknowledge our own weakness and we sit to ‘nurse’ ourselves, but the Lord says at that point, “Arise and possess!” Our inheritance is not here on earth, it is in Christ in the heavenliness; not in ourselves, but in the fullness of Him. It is ever His fullness over and against your emptiness; His strength over and against your ‘weakness’; your inheritance is ALL HE IS.
Pauls says about Timothy, “he is doing the work of the Lord, as I am.” (1 Corinthians 16:10). We must come to an end of our works, nothing coming from us; but God says in effect: “With your nothingness I will possess the heavens and the earth.” It is a marvelous and glorious thought to be such a people, chastened and emptied of self, so that the Holy Spirit by His energies and intent can display the glories of the Lord Jesus in us and through us.
so that through the church the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly places. This was according to the eternal purpose that he has realized in Christ Jesus our Lord, Ephesians 3:10-11
so that in the coming ages He might show the immeasurable riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. …For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:7,10
In this current age there is a great need for those who call themselves .. His, to go to a deeper relationship to realize their ‘calling’ in Him. We must continually place ourselves on the ‘alter’ as a ‘living sacrifice’ (Romans 12:1) seeking His plan and path for our current ‘present’ day. Ever aware of His quiet whisper of instruction and guidance in our minds and hearts being quick to acknowledge it and obey Him without argument or fear.
This is only learned as we go ‘with Him’, stepping out of our comfort and ease of our own lives, and into His purposeful ministry to those around us. Over and over with each divine assignment we learn to navigate with Him, as He lovingly corrects our behavior and steps in our attempts to obey. Till that day when He brings us HOME, to forever be with Him and we hear that which all TC2 members crave, “Well done! Good and faithful friend!”
