Soapbox rant.

Warning: this is kinda harsh — so if you’re looking for warm fuzzies go to the next thing. 

Then he said to them, “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be great earthquakes, and in various places famines and pestilences. And there will be terrors and great signs from heaven. But before all this they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons, and you will be brought before kings and governors for my name’s sake. This will be your opportunity to bear witness. Settle it therefore in your minds not to meditate beforehand how to answer, for I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which none of your adversaries will be able to withstand or contradict. You will be delivered up even by parents and brothers and relatives and friends, and some of you they will put to death. You will be hated by all for my name’s sake. But not a hair of your head will perish. By your endurance you will gain your lives. Luke 21:10-19

Was Jesus ‘fear mongering’? Was Jesus just focused on the ‘negative’ and bad news of things? Was Jesus out of line because He wasn’t quoting an Old Testament scripture? Why couldn’t Jesus just be more encouraging and uplifting like some Christian radio stations? Was Jesus promising hard times? Why wasn’t Jesus telling us how to be prosperous and get rich?

Religion has SO screwed up the actual Body of Christ. Those that want to use religion to gain power, money, influence, and control …basically set themselves up as the Holy Spirit for the people. They want the people just to be drones and follow along with whatever they say, and oh yeah …they want just a small portion of your money every month. This is NOT THE WAY Jesus wanted. This is not what His intentions were — just look how He spoke about the Pharisees.

Critical thinking is now VERY rare. Logic has left the building. Common sense is the outcast. Our state governmental educational system is only designed to make ‘factory workers’ / drones / zombies, rather than thinkers (problem solvers) and creators. And the institutional Church uses the SAME system on how they ‘teach’ people. There really isn’t ANY real discipleship, where you can really discuss and be challenged together in a small group working out spiritual principles and working with the Holy Spirit through each individual. No… we’re forever stuck in 3rd grade spiritually with the institutional religious system we have. We need a reset. Hold the power button down till everything goes dark.

People! Listen – Jesus gave anyone access to the Holy Spirit to whoever will ask Him. But no, we need someone else to tell us what is. We want a human being to guide us. The Israelites wanted to be like everyone else around them — they wanted a king. Oh how we are just like that NOW! Except it’s a President instead of king.

Who is your current teacher? Who is the one who is delivering the Truth to you? Anyone? The media? Social media? The pastor? The bible study group leader? Your professor? If the Holy Spirit isn’t your MAIN and first teacher you go to with for ALL your questions and answers — you are being led astray. AWAY from Jesus. Haven’t you figured that out by now? The Holy Spirit will almost ALWAYS lead you to the Word (Rhema and Logos). Sometimes though …in times of GREAT crisis the Holy Spirit can shout directions to you to save your life (not exactly scripture / chapter and verse). But the religious types will NEVER agree to that last statement. *Sigh* 

People STOP listening to EVERY voice. Learn how to hear HIM for yourself! Learn His Voice. Learn what He wants you to do — THROUGH the Holy Spirit, not through another Church program. Learn how to filter EVERYTHING through Him .. in your mind. Learn how to take His suggestions and direction.
