Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and all that is within me,
bless His holy name!
Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and forget not all His benefits,
who forgives all your iniquity,
who heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from the pit,
who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy,
who satisfies you with good
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s. Psalms 103:1-5
Are you like me on many mornings and not feeling like this? Yet … if we begin the conversation with the Holy Spirit first thing — He reminds me of scripture like this. This isn’t a request from our soul — it is a demand from our spirit and mind to get our emotions going in the right direction.
Acknowledge Him! Praise His name! Speak out loud — and fill the atmosphere around you with praise of Him! Sing if you can. Put worship music on and turn up the volume. It can be an act of defiance against what you are currently feeling.
Start counting and speaking all the blessings God has given you! Thank Him for all that you have down to your breath and heartbeat. Be grateful for ALL He has provided for you, including citizenship in heaven (salvation from hell). Focus on the good He has surrounded you with and speak it out.
Allow the Spirit of God to give you insights and words (scripture) to speak! For He has given you another day in an adventure with Him.
Hallelujah!
