For one who speaks in a tongue speaks not to men but to God; for no one understands him, but he utters mysteries in the Spirit. 1 Corinthians 14:2
What are the mysteries yet revealed to us? Certainly the vast creation in the universe holds mysteries, as well as the very fabric of time and space still is yet to be totally understood. Many within the religious leadership circles have dismissed this verse as to have ‘passed away’ with the death of the apostles, so our need for mysteries to be explained is no longer a pursuit we need to explore as we have the printed Bible. For me – that is not the case. I believe that there is still a VAST amount of mystery yet to be revealed to us. Certainly we know very little about the spiritual realms, angels, demons, and their abodes. Do they have technology far beyond our capabilities? Are they still bound to time as we are? Or can they manipulate certain aspects of the dimensional properties? How does their ability to plant thoughts into the minds of individuals work? Their understanding of frequencies and dimensional movement is obviously definitely greater than our current knowledge.
Take the above verse as an example, and the gift of tongues, and what and why the Holy Spirit would have an individual pray / speak in an unknown tongue when no one is around? What does this simple act of obedience do for that individual? What is the mystery of our own spirit and it’s form and make up? Does our spirit and soul interact with the spiritual realm in ways we have yet to understand? Most certainly. Without the teaching and revelation from the Holy Spirit about the spiritual realms we are really blind, deaf, and ignorant to the things that surround us in the invisible space we can’t detect with our physical senses.
Then Elisha prayed and said, “O Lord, please open his eyes that he may see.” So the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw, and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. 2 Kings 6:17
but there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries, … Daniel 2:28a
This is how one should regard us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. 1 Corinthians 4:1
Is the Bible the complete record of EVERYTHING God / Jesus have done?
Now there are also many other things that Jesus did. Were every one of them to be written, I suppose that the world itself could not contain the books that would be written. John 21:25
So there are many things yet to be revealed to us by the Holy Spirit. And I believe we will have the eons of time in eternity to explore the wonders and vastness of His creation with Him. I also believe there is revelation and mysteries that He can reveal to us now to help us in our current assignments with Him … if we have the courage to ask Him.
Do you need small things revealed to you, like what He would have you do today? Or big things like what your purpose really is here on earth with Him? These are the things He WANTS to reveal to us … because He loves us and created us to be in intimate relationship with Him. He wants to have us walk with Him through our days.
Are you bold enough to ask Him the more difficult questions in your mind and soul and expect an answer from Him?
