And I will make boys their princes,
and infants shall rule over them.
And the people will oppress one another,
every one his fellow
and every one his neighbor;
the youth will be insolent to the elder,
and the despised to the honorable.
For a man will take hold of his brother
in the house of his father, saying:
“You have a cloak;
you shall be our leader,
and this heap of ruins
shall be under your rule”;
in that day he will speak out, saying:
“I will not be a healer;
in my house there is neither bread nor cloak;
you shall not make me
leader of the people.”
For Jerusalem has stumbled,
and Judah has fallen,
because their speech and their deeds are against the Lord,
defying his glorious presence.
For the look on their faces bears witness against them;
they proclaim their sin like Sodom;
they do not hide it.
Woe to them!
For they have brought evil on themselves.
Tell the righteous that it shall be well with them,
for they shall eat the fruit of their deeds.
Woe to the wicked! It shall be ill with him,
for what his hands have dealt out shall be done to him.
My people—infants are their oppressors,
and women rule over them.
O my people, your guides mislead you
and they have swallowed up the course of your paths. Isaiah 3:4-12
What happens when the country’s deeds and speech constantly defy the Lord? Shall they receive the leaders they deserve? Does honor and respect flee? Do the insolent and wicked flaunt their sin in the streets in defiance to God and everyone and call it ‘celebration’ and ‘pride’? What were the consequences for Sodom? What are the spiritual leaders doing? Hiding? Has the fear of man total consumed the professional spiritual class? Fear because of compensation and money? Fear because of popular influences? Has their spiritual teaching become … like salt which has lost it’s flavor?
“You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet.” Matthew 5:13
Can we heed the prophet’s warnings of old to a people’s path which was oh so close to the one we are currently on? So how does this relate to the individual and to you? What responsibility do we all carry for the state that our country is in? Humble yourself to God and the Holy Spirit and honestly ask Him what you need to do? Is He guiding your daily steps? Is He giving you messages to give to others? Is He having you speak up – when you want to remain silent?
“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” Matthew 5:14-16
Find your ‘family’ and encourage and support them, with real love and fellowship, and with prayer and the ‘word’. Utilize the ‘living rhema word’ of God which pierces all the way to the heart of the issue, wielded with the skill of mature servant of the Lord. This country needs those who serve the Lord with all they are and have with no fear of man.
There’s plenty to ponder in the first quoted scripture, like …do we see leaders in our country who are like ‘infants’ in behavior and thinking? Let’s be wise in who we lend our support to who want places of leadership. Vote with discernment.
